Shopping for dresses while on a production or for personal use has taken us to the occasional vintage shop or two. Have you ever discovered a garment that would be perfect save for the beading repair it needs or the silk that has frayed? You pass on it, with the thought that it can’t be repaired.
In this 4-hour course, participants will each be provided with a piece of a vintage dress to work on, as they discuss the ways to stabilize the silk and techniques of stitching and design. The course will examine other damaged vintage dresses to assess viability and inspect repairs.
Participants only need to bring a pair of scissors, all other materials will be provided.
