CAFTCAD is delighted to host A Conversation with Primetime Emmy Award Nominated and CAFTCAD Award Winning Costume Designer, Cynthia Summers, moderated by Globe and Mail Columnist, Nathalie Atkinson.
Cynthia Summers is a two time Emmy-nominated, award-winning, groundbreaking costume designer and stylist based in Los Angeles and Vancouver. She is best known for her brilliant and unique style-eye, which she uses to develop inspiring images of modern-day independent women and men as well as fantastical characters taken from the pages of a book to a binge-worthy series. Whether she is bringing life to a character off the page of a script or styling a celebrity, Cynthia is inspired by the spirit of every persona to create a cohesive look that resonates for each individual.
In celebration of the launch of CAFTCAD's Virtual Exhibit, The Life of a Costume: An Exploration of Canadian Costumes, Cynthia virtually "sits down" with Nathalie to discuss her work and design process on Primetime Emmy Award Nominated and CAFTCAD Award winning series, Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events as well as her many other career successes. Guests will have the opportunity to ask questions for the speaker to answer live.
