Rooted in sensitivity, collaboration, and care, this event centres on the challenges and opportunities that arise in fitting rooms and spaces within the costume department that are often intimate, gendered, and vulnerable. 

With insights from industry professionals, including performers Makayla Couture and Breton Lalama, and costume designer Benjamin Toner, we’ll be exploring topics such as pronoun usage, gender-affirming fitting practices, and how to navigate and repair missteps with care. This session is designed to equip costume professionals with practical tools and a deeper understanding on how to support performers.
